Sandy is a very playful, sweet and affectionate kitty. She did not have the best start in life. She and her kittens were abandoned, left in a box in front of someone’s garage in West Oakland. By the time Home At Last heard about her plight her kittens had been given away. A kind woman rescued her and asked Home At Last for help.

Sandy loves to play with wand toys with feathers to chase, mouse toys that squeak, other small toys she throws into the air and catnip-filled toys. She loves to be petted and lounge on a chair next to you as you are working on the computer, and also enjoys to position herself on the top shelf of the cat tower by the window to observe birds, butterflies and bugs, or just take a good nap.

Sandy is an independent, outgoing and social girl who gets along well with some of the kitties in the foster home. But more than anything she enjoys the company of people. She would be very happy to become the queen of your household and follow you around as you go about your daily business. Sandy is not quite a lap cat yet nor does she curl up in bed with you yet, but she does get onto the bed at night and stay by your feet for a while.

Sandy can be vocal at times but never to the extent that it becomes annoying. And, she has a cute tail, 1 ½ inches long, that looks ever so funny when she moves it. She might well be a Manx kitty.

Sandy is vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and is microchipped
