Abbey spent the first year of her life in a city shelter and the last 3 years in an overcrowded
foster home with too little one on one attention. The rescue group is closing down and if we can't
find a home for her by May- she will be shipped off to a sanctuary to live the rest of her life in a big cage.
We love this girl and have made it my number one priority to find the loving home she so deserves.
Abbey is deaf... but that does not deter her from loving life. She is good with other dogs.
She does tend to be shy and a bit nervous around new people. I have been working with her on this.
She responds well to a patient and sensitive hand. She will need to meet new people in a way that
sets her up to trust them. A local dog training professional will provide two free training sessions for Abbey so that her new guardian
can easily learn how to make her comfortable and trust new people and situations.
Once Abbey knows you- she is yours! She wiggles and wags and smiles at you. She is drop
dead cute. She loves to carry her big kong around, it's an adorable sight!
Abbey does not do too well with cats, she would be able to live with another dog as long
as their were proper introductions and socialization times. Because Abbey is deaf and can be sensitive to quick movements,
I recommend a home with adults only or teenage children that can help her feel comfortable.
Abbey is such a love. She loves her walks, and she loves to know you are near. She will
constantly run back to you to wiggle in your lap. She is happiness personified Please give this
dear sweet angel a chance at love, finally!
